CODIXX AG is a manufacturer specialized on dichroic glass polarizers for the medical, pharmaceutical and diagnostics market

The company is based in Germany with customers on five different continents. Working close together with a network of distributors, CODIXX offers local customer service in countries nearly all over the world.

Dichroic colorPol® Polarizers

CODIXX has more than 20 years’ experience as a manufacturer of high-quality polarizers, known worldwide under the trademark colorPol®. They are dichroic polarizers made of soda lime glass with silver nanoparticles embedded near both surfaces. Depending on the size and shape of the silver particles, a wavelength dependent absorption causes polarization.

Unlike many other polarizers, colorPol® polarizers are available in a wide range of spectral characteristics covering UV (340 – 420 nm) to VIS, NIR and MIR (440 – 5,000 nm) wavelength range. High transmittance of over 97% (with anti-reflection coating) and contrast up to 100 000:1 (50dB) open a broad field of applications.

colorPol® polarizers made of glass are a durable choice:

  • thin like foil polarizers (0.2 – 0.5 mm, more options are realizable by laminating)

  • resistant to UV radiation and most chemicals

  • ±20° wide acceptance angle for incident radiation

  • operate in temperatures between -50°C and +400°C

  • high accuracy of polarization axis to a defined edge

  • easy to handle, clean and process – just like regular glass or wavers

Customized

We cover a broad variety of standard polarizers and custom products. With colorPol® polarizers it is no longer necessary to match your application to a polarizer. Instead, the polarizer will be made to match your application by various customization options.

Popular customization options are:

  • specific wavelength of maximum polarization

  • customized wavelength range within the physical restrictions of 340 nm – 420 nm and 440 nm – 5,000 nm

  • various shapes and sizes up to 100.0 x 60.0 mm²

  • AR coatings as V-coating or wide-band version for individual wavelength

  • patterned polarizers with segments of different size, shape and number for distinctive polarization axis or wavelength range

  • optionally mounted for easier handling and operation

Quality assurance

State-of-the-art equipment is used to measure and record product and process quality. After every main production step the product is carefully analyzed for imperfections and optical properties are measured. All information is documented and used to maintain a high level of quality. CODIXX uses a DIN EN ISO 9001 certified quality management system to continuously improve all processes to meet rising customer requirements.

Aware of the social and environmental responsibilities of a modern company, we take great care to avoid conflicting material and resources. Waste material is recycled as far as possible and all products are REACH, RoHS and PFOS compliant.
