STANDARIZATION OF MOTION CONTROL

2x Faster Development Time

With a command set based on standard C-language constructs plus algorithms developed and implemented on the ICs, Performance Motion Devices’ turnkey motion solution eliminates the need to build motion software from scratch; you can utilize it over and over again.

Reduce Risk

Today, we still ship and support products which were designed with our ICs more than 20 years ago.

Performance Motion Devices understands that companies invest significant time and resources in optimizing  prototyping  and going through FDA- or 510K-approval. When your product is ready for production, Performance Motion Devices will be there. As a customer, you can “lock in” a version of any IC. This ensures long-term availability and helps maintain the viability of your products.

To supply help customers meet stringent industry requirements and attain long-term product success.

Medical Devices

We focus on your motion control so you can bring product to market faster. Our ensemble of leading edge diagnostic and medical device customers provide extensive experience across a wide range of applications.

As hospitals have become the junction of technology and health innovations, the use of everything from robotic surgical devices to imaging systems has increased dramatically. These applications demand stability, reliability, and long-term component availability; a key attribute supported by Performance Motion Devices.

Lab Automation

Automated fluid delivery requires incredible levels of precision, speed, and the ability to receive and deliver samples. Performance Motion Devices’ motion control ICs can deliver controlled ramp-up and ramp-down rates, preventing the disturbance of centrifuge samples. These ICs are well-suited for pipetting applications where dispensing and aspirating precise amounts of liquids in a high throughput gantry system is key.

Performance Motion Devices has years of experience with precision fluid pumping and sample handling, centrifuges, blood analyzers, high speed imaging microscope stages, and other laboratory automation applications. Let us focus on your motion control so you can bring product to market faster.

Our ICs size and functionality make them the optimal choice in the medical device and laboratory automation fields

Magellan Smart ICs

The Magellan® Family of smart ICs provide high-performance positioning motion control. They are available in 1 to 4-axis versions, and are pre-programmable to control Brushless DC, Step, and DC Brush, or multi-motor.

Magellan ICs have a proven track-record in medical, scientific, robotic, and lab automation applications. Click here to learn more.

Velocity and Torque Control IC

Looking for digital current loop, velocity loop and communication?  Our Velocity and Torque control multi-motor ICs are single-axis controllers that function in internal velocity profile mode, velocity mode with an external velocity command signal, or torque mode with an external torque command signal. These ICs operate standalone, or through a serial port using commands sent by a microprocessor.

Today, Performance Motion Devices’ technology is a core component of FDA-, CE-, and 510K-approved medical and lab equipment manufactured around the globe. Our precision products, common motion architecture and long-term supply help customers meet stringent industry requirements and attain long-term product success.
