ZAP Surgical nets $78m for radiosurgery platform
US-based ZAP Surgical Systems has secured $78m in a financing round led by and in partnership with Chinese healthcare company Qingdao Baheal Medical. The funds will be used to further the manufacturing, sales, and distribution efforts of ZAP Surgical’s ZAP-X Gyroscopic Radiosurgery platform. The ZAP-X platform is a robotic device designed to perform non-invasive stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) procedures to treat brain tumours, lesions, and other conditions of the head and neck.
Onward raises $54m to continue neuromodulation trials
Onward Medical has raised $54m (€50m) via a bookbuild offering, with proceeds going towards ongoing clinical studies and an expected commercial launch of one of the company’s devices in the US. The capital increase, through a private placement with institutional investors of ten million new ordinary shares priced at €5 each, extends the company’s cash runway for future years.
Inquis Medical secures $40m funding to advance thrombectomy system
Inquis Medical has closed its $40m Series B oversubscribed financing round for expediting the advancement of its Aventus Thrombectomy System intended to address venous thromboembolism. This round was led by investment company Marshall Wace, with participation from existing investors, including EnPointe Ventures, Pierre Lamond, ShangBay Capital and Yu Star.
Okami Medical raises $32.5m to advance vascular occlusion technologies
Okami Medical has closed a financing round, raising $32.5m led by Vensana Capital, with contributions from US Venture Partners and other industry veterans. This capital injection will expedite the development and commercialisation of Okami’s catheter-based technologies for peripheral vascular occlusion.
