Analysis of the key themes driving deal activity reveals that metaverse accounted for 141 medical devices deals between 2018 and 2022, worth a total value of $3,416m, according to GlobalData’s Deals database covering mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture financing, equity offerings and partnerships. The $105m venture financing by MindMaze was the largest disclosed deal in 2022, while the $1,546m equity offering by Lenovo Group was the largest disclosed deal in 2021.
In volume terms, metaverse related deal activity increased by 82% year-on-year in 2022 and decreased by 31% year-on-year in 2021.
