In a world first, researchers from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, in collaboration with the US-based Inkbit Inc., have successfully printed a robotic hand with bones, ligaments and tendons made of different polymers using a new 3D laser technique. In this month’s edition of Medical Technology, we investigate this emerging 3D printing method and the research behind a new bioartificial pancreas for the treatment of diabetes.
